DANTE’S INFERNO: 60 FPS OF PURE ANGER

October 12, 2009

Before I talk about what you’re about to see here, I must admit to something I never thought I would actually admit to. Last November, I had played the Dead Space demo created by the same group of developers making Dante’s Inferno. Well to me, and I still believe what I said at the time, the demo was a disaster. But with much encouragement from some friends to put my bitterness about the demo aside, I finally played the game. To make a long story short, the demo did not do the game justice at all. Dead Space was an incredible single player campaign experience and it quickly became one of my most favorite horror games of all time. This is why I am so excited to see what Visceral Games will be coming out with Dante’s Inferno.

Say what you will about the look and feel of Dante’s Inferno compared to God of War type games. Visceral has skyrocketed in my book as one of the most talented group of developers in the industry today. Visceral is definitely doing their own thing here, despite any comparison to other games already out. This video above, courtesy of That Videogame Blog, shows how much anger you can expect to experience in the 5th Circle of Hell.

Dante’s Inferno, thanks to the talented developers of Visceral Games, and for proving that talent already in Dead Space, is a must buy title on day one for me. Hands down, so stoked for this release!

Thanks to DIGGITY and everyone else who told me to basically shut up and play the damn game already. Anyone out there who has not played Dead Space yet, really is missing out. I was a critic, now I’m a believer.

DANTE’S INFERNO: GO TO HELL!

July 5, 2009

What’s God of War? That just may be your reaction after you play Visceral Games new IP, Dante’s Inferno. This game looks like it could be a visually disturbing delight but looks like it could also be quite immersive. I’m starting to get real excited for this one.

If you pay close attention, you can see that the blood color is not your typical color of red, green, or even purple. It makes sense to use a more lava-orange color considering the location of Dante’s Inferno, and it is in these small but powerful details that could set this game apart from it’s obvious God of War competition. Though this looks amazing and as of this point I can see myself purchasing this on day one, I have said that before. Lately the “must haves” have been quite a disappointment. Hey Visceral, EA? Don’t disappoint us. Especially with all that hype.

Gamestop has Dante’s Inferno shipping on December 1, 2009.
